Attaching Tags to Clothing Items

PLEASE help us to sell as many of your items as possible by making certain your tags are securely attached. In the event a tag becomes lost, Fancy Pants will determine a fair price and at the end of the sale, all consignors will receive an email, which will describe the item and hopefully a match will be made. But you have the power to avoid this by doing the following:

Tags must be attached directly to the garment, not to the hanger!
Please try not to price anything under $2.00, except books which can be priced at $1.00. You can use 50 cent increments.
Match shirts and pants/shorts together to get to that price point.
Onsies should be in Ziploc bags, we like to save our rack space for other types of clothes. Everyone needs PJ's feel free to hang them.
Try to find an inconspicuous spot like under the arm or a belt loop to fasten the card with using a safety pin. Or use the label tag that is on the garment to secure the tag.
If the clothing item is in a Ziploc bag, please place card inside of the bag.

Attaching Tags to Shoes
Please do not put a price tag on each shoe, only one tag per pair.
If you have 'zip-tied' your shoes together, make sure the tag is taped on securely and attached to the bottom of the shoe.
Only as a last resort, when there is no way to attach the tag to the shoes and to join the shoes, put them in a Ziploc bag, seal the bag with clear packing tape and tape tag to bag.

Attaching Tags to Comforters and Blankets

These items sell best when hung or put into a large comforter bag. Because there are usually more than one item to sell, such as; sheets, bumpers, shams, etc, make ONE tag and list all of the items on that card.

Attaching Tags to Feeding, Bath, and Nursing Items

Remember that no item should be less than $2.00 when tagging. Group like things together to get to that price point.
If an item is awkward and difficult for a tag to stay taped or pinned, please use a Ziplock Bag and put the item and card inside the bag.
Otherwise, use the Painter's Tape to tape it to the item or a safety pin, if it is something made of material, like Boppie's.

Attaching Tags to Toys, Equipment and Baby Gear

The Painter's Blue Tape is ideal for many toy items. When it comes off, it does not destroy the toys.
For books and puzzles, you may tape the tag to the back of the item so that when it is removed, the front of the book and puzzle are not damaged. Many people like to couple books and puzzles together with Saran Wrap or Large Ziplock bags and tape the card to the plastic rather than to the item.
If there are small parts the go along with the toy, ie. Balls, tools, etc. please make sure that they are in a Ziploc bag and that bag is sealed and taped. These items tend to get loose during the sale. This will be checked during intake.
Cribs, swings, and pack 'n plays MUST be assembled and you should use Painter's tape or a safety pin to attach ONE tag on the item. If you have multiple parts then you can use the tape to place your consignor number on each part and list it as Part 1 of 3, Part 2 of 3 and so on with a description on each piece. Do not place more than one price on each item.

Other Information to Consider When Tagging and Preparing Items

Clean, pressed, and well-presented will earn you the most money!

All Children's clothing must be hung on small, plastic hangers. Do not use large, wire hangers. If a piece of clothing fits snuggly on the hanger you do not need to safety pin it further. If your clothing is likely to fall off the hanger you should pin it using safety pins.

Please use baby hangers for smaller items and larger adult hangers for young adult or maternity clothes. Please use safety pins to hang pants as pants can easily become detached from pants hangers (except for pants hangers that have the metal band that fit very snuggly.)

All clothing must be hung so that when the clothes on the hanger are facing you the top of the hanger forms a question mark (?).

Make sure you have a price and your consignor number on each tag.
If you plan to donate to the Foster Families of Pinellas County, place an X on the card. These items will be pulled after the sale closes on Saturday evening and donated then.
If you do not want your item to be discounted on Saturday to half price, please put ND for No Discount on the card.

Toys are very popular and when grouped together as a set. LEGOs, Playmobil, character toys are not only popular but in demand at our sales! Please make sure that you do not individually sell an item for less than $2.00.

Group as many items as you can together in a set. For example, many designers have several pieces of clothing in the same "line." Pairing items together in sets with accessories brings more money to the consignor and is convenient to our shoppers.

Please do not sell books for less than $1.00. You can always group books together to get to that price mark.

Organize your things and check to make sure that they are not recalled. It is your responsibility to check this, go to www.cpsc.org. This website is updated and you can check to make sure your item is not on a recall list. Due to recently passed legislation, it is imperative that you help us keep our shoppers' children safe, it may become a litigious issue.
